As Variety first reported, Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson are attached to star in an untitled project that Kaling also wrote and will produce.

Described as The Devil Wears Prada meets Broadcast News, the story revolves around a veteran late-night talk show host, played by Thompson, who’s in danger of losing her long-running show right when she hires her first female writer, played by Kaling.

Kaling’s upcoming projects include Ocean’s Eight, with Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, and Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time; Thompson will play Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and will be seen next alongside Brendan Gleeson and Daniel Brühl in Alone in Berlin.
