oh god, ive just seen quite a few posts about here on tumblr, espcially in the autistic community, can’t remember the exact reasons why  and i don’t really feel like going into it now

it might not be your intention but you’re giving me the feeling that you think there is no way hermoine is autistic and how dare i think that cause jk rowling never said that and all, and it’s making me feel kinda awful, especially after i’ve just said how important autistic representation is to me.

even if there’s not really much there that could make you think a character is autistic, i found that as soon as we find something in a character that could maybe make him or her autistic, we head canon that character as autistic, just because we can, because it makes us feel empowered,because it makes us feel happy and proud. we want to relate to fictional characters too. like for once i wanna go ‘omg that character is so me” without having to go ‘if she were autistic too though” like ive been there so many times. so many. i want to be proud of me being autistic. i don’t want to be ashamed of it anymore. i don’t want to feel less because of it anymore. and being represented in storytelling, espcially in movies for me, could really really help.
