so my sister and i were talking about harry potter a few days ago and i happily mentioned that many people thought hermoine was autistc and she was like “??? that hasn’t got anything to do with the movie…thats like saying harry potter had adhd or something”

and that hurt me.

like she just didn’t see the point of it. she didn’t see how important that was to me that hermoine could be autistic. 

ive been thinking about this a few days and i’ll maybe go into it a bit further another time but… autistic representation is also important. POSITIVE representation. representation that makes us feel empowered as autistic women. it’s not the most important but .. it’s important to me and i’m sure to many other autistic girls. i have a real need for it.
